Grinding wheel blades can be categorized into a variety of types depending on the abrasive, shape, and bond, each with its own specific purpose.
Classification by abrasive: Grinding wheel discs can be categorized into ordinary abrasive grinding wheels and natural abrasive super hard abrasive grinding wheels according to the abrasive used. Common abrasives include corundum and silicon carbide, etc., while natural abrasives super-hard abrasives include diamond and cubic boron nitride, etc.
Classification by shape: grinding wheels have various shapes, the common ones are flat grinding wheels, beveled edge grinding wheels, cylindrical grinding wheels, cup-shaped grinding wheels and disc-shaped grinding wheels.
Classification according to bonding agent: different bonding agent will also lead to the performance difference of the grinding wheel, the common bonding agent is ceramic, resin, rubber and metal and so on. Ceramic bonded grinding wheels are suitable for high speed grinding, resin bonded grinding wheels are suitable for heavy duty grinding, rubber bonded grinding wheels are suitable for work with high impact loads, and metal bonded grinding wheels are suitable for special working environments.
Different types of grinding wheels have different uses in industrial applications:
Rough grinding wheels: mainly used for removing rust, burrs and oxidized layers on metal surfaces, with high grinding efficiency.
Fine grinding wheel: used for fine grinding, so that the metal surface to achieve a high degree of finish.
Polishing grinding wheels: used for metal surface polishing treatment, make the metal surface bright as new.
